Healing your inner child.......

This is such a complex post but one I find to be so important in our healing journey. We will often find our triggers in life will led us back to our childhood, mainly what we experienced and what we feel we missed out on. As we search our soul for answers, we will find them and know how we can give ourselves back what we didn't have. Others along the way can also help with this, but the responsibility is with us to make it happen. It is incredibly empowering to re parent ourselves.
I will give you an example. I myself struggle with pressured events, such as birthdays, Christmas, etc. I want everything to be perfect, but I struggle to make it all come together, which frustrates me! My biggest trigger is my birthday, so for a long time I have completely retreated and had a very quiet day. Anyone who knows me well , will know this is not me at all! I am a bubbly , fun and friendly person. But the pressure to muck up my birthday was too much, so I opted out completely. I also remember some comments when I was a child that were negative surrounding my birthday when I was a child and this affected me deeply.
But this year, I decided to do something different, I wanted to celebrate! So I booked a venue, hired a DJ, and decided to be true to who I really am and celebrate ME! It really took me out of my comfort zone ( thank goodness!) and I was so touched that the friends I invited got me balloons, a banner, confetti, cake and presents. I felt overwhelmed with emotions on my birthday evening, and me celebrating myself fully ( karaoke and all) was so healing for me. I gave myself what I needed and it was beautiful .
So, my question to you is, what do you need, right now? What do you need to give yourself? It can be hard to know what you actually need if you have been out of touch with yourself for a while and sat alone with your thoughts. So try doing this, it will most certainly be uncomfortable, but I promise you, it will be worth it. It will fill your soul up , and your inner child will be giggling away, and that will make you so happy.
