patience

I genuinely feel that patience is the toughest of all the virtues, and the lesson can be very painful. We can envisage the life we want, the phone call or email we are waiting for that could change everything and we just have to - wait . Sounds simple, but waiting is anything but. It's giving up control of the outcome and leaving it to see what happens next, and that is incredibly difficult. Yet it is something that we must learn if we want to grow wiser, and we will find that learning patience is an important life skill that we must learn.
Delaying gratification is not common in today's dopamine driven society, but I feel that often we short change ourselves and instead of waiting for what God ( or whatever you believe in ) has promised us we rush in and accept something that isn't right for us because we can no longer wait for what we truly want . I believe in Gods timing. I also believe that these lessons I am learning have a purpose and they will help me to the person I am meant to become .
So I will wait. I will try and wait with grace ( which I find extremely hard!) but I will wait nether the less. I will wait and push myself at the same time, not becoming stagnant in the waiting.
I will surrender.
Are you waiting on something ? I'm right with you, you are not alone.
All my love,
Andrea
